During your stay at our surf camps in Cascais many of you ask us for recommendations of the best local restaurants with traditional Portuguese food. Therefore, we decided to create a list of our favorite Portuguese restaurants in Cascais.
1. Beira Mar The restaurant is located in the very center of Cascais, with an intimate garden perfect for a romantic dinner with typical Portuguese delicacies. The classic atmosphere and high-quality products make it the perfect option for a truly Portuguese experience.
2. O pescador The O pescador restaurant located next door offers the same fresh fish and seafood in a slightly more relaxed atmosphere. Here you will try the most typical dishes prepared with fresh fish and seafood delivered on a regular basis. 3. Sr. Manuel The restaurant is located in the central part of Cascais on Rua Amarela (yellow street) which has been very popular in recent years. The area itself is teeming with life in the evenings, and among restaurants from all over the world (Mexican, Thai, Moroccan...) we can find one of the most interesting Portuguese places on the culinary map of Cascais. 4. Furnas do Guincho This is definitely the more sophisticated position on the list. Furnas do Guincho is one of the more fancy restaurants in Cascais. Next to fresh Portuguese cuisine, an additional value is the location right on the ocean, between the center of Cascais and Guincho Beach. 5. O Cantinho da Belinha
This is a typical Portuguese tasca restaurant. You can eat a lot here and for relatively little money. The restaurant is located near the center of Cascais and is a great option for lunch after a great surfing session!
6. Entraguas
This restaurant attracts people with its decor from afar. Beautifully lit, located at the exit from the center of Cascais towards Guincho beach, is it a perfect option for a romantic dinner? Specialty? Of course, fresh fish and seafood.
7. Taberna Clandestina
Although it is one of our favorite places, this time we decided to put Taberna Clandestina at the end of the list. This is not a restaurant serving typical Portuguese dishes but a tapas bar with a mix of Italian and Portuguese flavors. Located on the famous yellow street, it will be a perfect choice both during the day and in the evening!
